These ratchet straps are excellent quality! The retractable design is super convenient,
no more dealing with tangled straps. They feel very sturdy and secure, with a high break strength that gives peace of mind when hauling. First off, I am used to the old-style ratchet straps that require putting the strap through the ratchet and cranking. Usually, putting the strap in backwards. Having ones that are already wrapped and use a spring-loaded pull does come in very handy and works great for hooking up. I was very pleased with the ease of use and how fast they attached. They also came with bungee cords, tie-down straps, and a bag that everything fits into.
I'm not the most seasoned ratcheter, but decided to take the plunge on this variety set. And let me say, I thought there was a mistake in the weight of the package—it seemed they sent a solid block of lead.
Well, I exaggerate a wee bit. But the heft of this combo is unbelievable. So much more rugged than the last set I owned.
As another owner has noted, these ratchets are self-contained and don't require "threading," which is a real boon. The mechanism seems well engineered and it's easy (and apparently safe) to press the red release button.
Extremely impressed. So far they work well. I have some cases in the back of the SUV when I travel and no amount of bungee and strapping kept them in place (~40-50# each). Put these between the bed latches and bam, things stayed like they were rocks. Good stuff.
