This 4-pack of ratcheting tie downs has officially upgraded me from “hope this holds” to “that’s not going anywhere.” The ratchet mechanism is smooth, sturdy, and satisfyingly clicky — you know that sound that just screams secure? Yeah, that one. Tightening them down feels controlled and solid, not like you’re arm-wrestling your cargo.
The straps themselves are thick and durable without being stiff or awkward to thread. They grip well, hold tension, and don’t loosen mid-drive (which means no pulling over on the highway questioning your life choices). I’ve used them for everything from hauling furniture to securing gear in the truck bed, and they’ve handled it all without fraying or slipping.
Having four in a pack is clutch, too. No more mix-and-match collection of mystery straps from the garage. These feel uniform, reliable, and built to last.
Honestly, they give you that quiet confidence you didn’t know tie downs could provide. If you’re hauling it, moving it, or strapping it down, these make sure it arrives exactly where you left it — no surprises included.
I have the Rhino brand retractable straps that are the same size and function as these. The Rhino costs about 10 bucks more.
These BOODAA straps are a solid replacement for the Rhino but it is clear that the ratcheting mechanism, while still solid and functional, does not operate quite as smoothly as the Rhino brand.
The BOODAA ratchet straps are bigger and heavier than I expected. The metal ratchet portion is about 6 inches in length by themselves, and with the strap retracted (and laid out flat) you've got about 22 inches of hook, strap, and ratchet. The mechanism works smoothly and the set gives you a lot of confidence transporting your heavy items. For small purposes, this is likely to be overkill.
These ratchet straps are excellent quality! The retractable design is super convenient,
no more dealing with tangled straps. They feel very sturdy and secure, with a high break strength that gives peace of mind when hauling. I also love that the set includes soft loops and bungee cords, making it versatile for motorcycles, kayaks, and more. Highly recommend for anyone needing dependable tie-downs!
The Boodaa Retractable Ratchet set is quite nice because you don't have to thread or re-thread the strap to get the right length to be able to ratchet it tight. The ratchet lever and release lever are plastic which is nicer than all metal. The auto retraction of the strap is at a speed that is safe. Overall the auto retractable mechanism works well. Note that the Working Load is 550lbs, while the break strengh is 1650 lb. The locking clips are a nice feature. How these stand up to use, only time will tell. A few things that were dissappointing to me. 1. No instructions whatsoever in the box. There are instructions on the Amazon website if you scroll down to "More Product Detials" from the manufacturer. 2) This is my first set of auto retractable ratchet straps. I was quite surprised how big and heavy the mechanism is. One retractable ratchet mechanism weighs 1.15 lbs. The bulkier body of the mechanism measures 6.25" L x 2.75" H x 2.5" W. So for tight spaces, like in a moving van or enclosed trailer where you are strapping down furniture/household goods, your better off with a smaller retractable mechanism or the usual non-retractable straps. So far I'm happy with these for use with strapping down things on my open trailer.
